» Kaziranga National Park

This Reserve Forest is situated on the banks of river Brahmaputra. The national park is well known for the preservation of SINGLE HORNED RHINOCEROUS. It is the home of the great Indian one -horned Rhinoceros (Unicornis). It is believed that Rhino population of the park is approaching 1200. The forest is open swamp grassland to deciduous and evergreen forest. The landscape of Kaziranga is of sheer forest, tall elephant grass, rugged reeds, mellow marshes and shallow pools. The total area of the park is 690 sq. kms.

The main wildlife of the park is One-horned Rhinoceros, Elephant, Indian Bison, Swamp Deer, Sambhar, Hog Deer, Sloth Bear, Tiger, Leopard, Cat, Jungle Cat, Hog Badger, Capped Langur, Hoolock Gibbon, Buffalo and birds like Pelican, Duck, Geese, Hornbill, Ibis, Cormorant, Egret, Heron, Black necked stork, Lesser Adjutants, Ring-tailed Fishing Eagles etc. are plenty in the National Park.
